Cigu Seafood Street

Cigu Seafood Street Cigu District is a coastal region with vast areas of fish rearing ponds as well as a large lagoon, rivers, and other natural habitats that allows people to easily harvest fish, shrimps, crabs, shellfish, and other aquacultural and fishing produce. Due to such bountiful harvests, Cigu's seafood has enjoyed a famous reputation since the 1960s and 1970s. The famous Cigu Seafood Street is located at both sides of City Road 176 from the east of Yucheng Borough to the road section in Dacheng Borough. The entire section is flanked by restaurants offering various kinds of seafood.

Cigu's Seafood Street started with Ange Seafood Store, which became famous with its affordable NT$ 100 seafood fare, and has turned into a household name throughout Taiwan. More and more seafood restaurants were established at Cigu which included over 20 establishments at its height during the 1990s. Cigu Seafood Street would become packed with people during the weekends coming to sample its seafood cuisine prepared in popular methods at competitive prices. After over a decade, 6 seafood restaurants remained at Cigu Seafood Street, namely: Ange, Tongyi, Hongfengche, Tongda, Sanbudeng, and Yanshan Techan. Recently, the growing popularity of tours around Yanshan has also encouraged the development of nearby seafood restaurants such as Yanshan 100, Yanshan A'Cheng, Longmen Kezhan, Waiguo'an, and Fuqiao. Other seafood restaurants include Cihe's Milkfish Cuisine at Datan Borough of northern Cigu as well as Xinanchun and Heti'an in southern Cigu. Other restaurants include those along Number 2 Bridgehead (live seafood restaurants such as Siji, Xianyi, and A'Le, as well as Fengsheng, Highway 61, and Mingfang) and Central Bridgehead (Wushen and A'Fen on the east side) and north of the Guoxing Bridge (Mudan Seafood Stir-Fry and Cigu Specialties).

Oyster Fritter
Oyster fritter is made using fresh oysters wrapped in a crust made of a mixture of wheat flour, soybean flour, and rice paste. The wrap is then fried until it assumes a crunchy texture. The tantalizing flavors and fragrance of the snack attract many passers-by who would often stop and buy one or 2 to savor the wonderful taste. Oyster fritter is a snack enjoyed by those who grew up in the coastal areas, helping to soothe the nostalgia of travelers away from their homes as well as serving as a favorite tidbit amongst tourists. Freshly fried oyster fritter has an alluring thin, golden, and crispy crust, while the oyster fillings offer a fresh and tantalizing flavor. Together, the flavors provide a most irresistible combination.
 
Salty Popsicles
Salty popsicles is a dessert first produced at Cigu Salt Mountain. Adding salt to sweet ice popsicles create a unique blend of sweet and salty flavors that proved to be extremely popular. The salty popsicles are an icy >treat unique to Cigu District and are sold in the Taiwan Salt Museum as well as other tourist locations. Recently, TAIYEN has decided to use low sodium salt for health purposes and developed unique flavors of black plums, egg yolk and walnuts, almond and walnuts, and sweet blue spirulina that tourists can choose from.
